-AT-HOME HEALTH TEST EVALUATES 6 KEY INDICATORS OF HEART HEALTH:

>hs-CRP

Is a measure of C-reactive protein (CRP), a protein that the liver makes when there is inflammation in the body. While some inflammation in the body is beneficial to help protect organs from injuries or infections.Excessive inflammation or elevated CRP levels can indicate chronic low-grade inflammation which may be correlated with an increased risk for heart disease.

>HbA1c

Is a measurement of the amount of glucose bound to the heme found in red blood cells. HbA1c levels are considered to be a good measure of your 90-day glucose levels and do not vary as much day-to-day as your standard glucose marker. HbA1c measurements are not a substitute for measuring daily glucose if your doctor has prescribed that you do so. High HbA1c levels are widely considered to be indicative that you either have, or have an elevated risk for developing, type 1 or type 2 diabetes. Diabetes is a significant risk factor for heart disease.

>Triglycerides

Are a type of fat in your blood that can increase your risk for heart diseases, heart attack and stroke.

>Low-Density Lipoprotein or LDL cholesterol

Generally considered the “bad cholesterol” as it can deposit in arteries and lead to a condition known as atherosclerosis. In addition these deposits can restrict the flow of blood throughout the body—and even lead to a heart attack or stroke. Therefore a Lower LDL Level is better for you. LDL can be calculated mathematically using triglycerides and total cholesterol values or measured directly – this test measures LDL directly.

>High-Density Lipoprotein or HDL cholesterol

The good cholesterol type that helps clear LDL cholesterol out of your arteries –and heart – so a higher level is better for you. Having a low HDL cholesterol level can increase your risk for heart disease.

>Total Cholesterol

Total cholesterol refers to the combined amounts of different kinds of cholesterol in the body. If it’s measured directly (instead of calculated), total cholesterol refers to the combined values of HDL, LDL, and a portion of your triglycerides—as well as other types of cholesterol. The higher your HDL % of Total Cholesterol, the better.
